Embassy of India Observes World Environment Day

The Government of India accords highest of priorities to protecting the Environment, and as part of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations, it is observing the World Environment Day through its Embassies across the world.

The Embassy of India, Kuwait, in coordination with Arms4U, an environment-friendly association in Kuwait, organized a programme at the Embassy auditorium in the Diplomatic Enclave, Daiya, to commemorate the World Environment Day on 7th June 2019. Dr. (Ms.) Majda Suleiman, an expert on environmental studies from Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KSIR), the Chief Guest, gave a talk on Desert Eco System. She focused on Restoration and Remediation Measures to tackle environmental issues of the friendly country of Kuwait.

Plant saplings that are compatible with Kuwait’s climatic conditions were presented to Indian schools and other relevant institutions in Kuwait, in order to contribute towards strengthening the eco system in the country.
